I’ve only driven it like 5 miles in the dark. So most questions I’ll answer after more drive time tomorrow.

Kinja'd!!!

Things I have noted so far: Brake pedal is spongy, V6 exhaust note is... Odd, seat heater works VERY well, ride and handling so far is good for a Wrangler, parking brake pedal intrudes into the footwell way too much.

And it’s $50k.

------------

AM Edit. Oh, that wasn’t the parking brake, it was the damn door strap poking me in the leg.

Kinja'd!!!

This pocket below the 12v/USB-Media outlet is dumb. Its wide, but not deep enough for a phone.

Kinja'd!!!

There is a LOT of wind noise coming from up here at 40MPH+

Kinja'd!!!

Fuel mileage sucks, but it is a big brick so of course it does.

Kinja'd!!!

I think my truck is getting done today (timing cover gasket leaking) so I’ll be giving the Jeep back.

When the second owner pays $49,990 for it, how good of a deal are they getting?

What events preceded the acquisition of a Wrangler rental?

Is the license plate obscuring ironic?

Have you jumped it yet?

I don't know, are they getting the $15k worth of accessories that were added after the purchase?

My SO wants a $50K Wrangler next year. How good is it at being an OK SUV? How quiet is it inside (compared to a JK with 37 " Thornbirds)? Is it OK in parking lots?

Isn’t there a different process for jumping something with an auxiliary battery like that?

It wanders like a lost dog on the freeway. Try and not constantly move the wheel. I rained on the parade.

I had one last week. I was super excited, even thought about buying one, then I got on the freeway. Also it’s cramped. It’s a toy. It’s good at being a toy and not much else.

I had a rental one last month too and was shocked at the amount it wandered . Got it home and checked tire pressures, highest was 48 lowest 42. Thanks hertz, I’ll fix it for ya. Afterwards it rode way better.

Trick question,  they have to spend another $15k on accessories to make it their own.

Its OK. Kids fit in it. Room in the back for stuff. Pretty quiet, but has wind noise. Quite maneuverable and zippy.

It does wander quite badly. Rides nice though. The cabin is cozy, not too cramped. It feels smaller than it is though.

Being a ex- rental at that point ... probably not a good one.

I could never drive one every day . I helped my sister sell hers , and drove it while it was listed . The first day they’ re pretty fun, and I can see how people get lured in. After a month I was over it.

I was over it in about 3 days. They are sooooo much nicer than they used to be. The interior is way ahead of anything else Jeep has previously produced. It actually looks durable, and resilient to the elements. Whether or not it does hold up *cough cracked dashes run in the family cough cough* we will wait to see.

Also it’s cramped.

This was my major takeaway from driving the Gladiator. The interior feels more cramped than my Matrix.

As someone who used to occasionally drive a JL for work...that fuel mileage is FANTASTIC.

It was averaging 18... I reset it last night and was coasting downhill. I love how the “average” in the middle is 15, like you’re not expected to get above that.... which you really aren’t, I suppose.

They must have wanted to prevent it from becoming too wide. There is a finite amount of safety they can sacrifice. Cramped interiors must be the result.

We had a new Wrangler for a rental on Martha’s Vineyard back in late October. My wife desperately wants one, so we sprung for a day rental and got a great off-season deal. Fun car.

Wh y is the plate covered in the photo?
